Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Stichting Be The Light Television (“BTL TV”, “we”) collects when you use btl-tv.com, why we collect it, and what your rights are under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What we collect and why
Prayer requests
When you send a prayer request from the Live TV page, we receive the name you enter (optional) and your request. It is stored in our admin system and emailed to our team so we can pray for you. We use it for nothing else. Legal basis: your consent, given when you send the request. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
Bible School
When you enrol in a Bible School course, we store your name, your email address if you give it, your course progress and quiz results, and any certificate issued. We use this to run the course and issue certificates. Legal basis: performance of the service you asked for.
Live TV viewer statistics
While the live stream plays on our website, your browser sends a signal every 30 seconds so we can count how many people are watching. It contains a random number stored in your browser, not your name, email or IP address. We keep these counts for 90 days. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing how many people watch.
App downloads
When you download the BTL TV Android app from our website, we record the time, your IP address, browser information and the page you came from, and we look up the approximate city and country of the IP address through the ip-api.com service. We use this to understand where our app is downloaded. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in download statistics.
Contact
If you email us, we use your email and message only to answer you.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, and Google Ad Manager to show a video advertisement before the live stream. These Google services may use cookies and similar technologies, and may process data such as your IP address and device information. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised advertising is used, through Google's consent message. You can change your choice at any time through the privacy link in that message.
Your browser also stores a few small items that are needed for the site to work, such as whether the Live TV advertisement was shown in the last 30 minutes, and a sign-in cookie for our own administrators.

Other services we use
- Vercel, which hosts the website, and our database provider, which stores the data described above.
- Google (Analytics, Ad Manager and email delivery through Gmail).
- Live247 / Easy Media Suite, which delivers the live video stream.
- YouTube and SoundCloud, when you play videos or audio embedded from them.
Some of these providers process data outside the European Union under the safeguards required by the GDPR.
How long we keep data
Viewer statistics are deleted after 90 days. Prayer requests, Bible School records and download statistics are kept until they are no longer needed or you ask us to delete them.
Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct or delete your personal data, to limit or object to its use, or to receive a copy of it. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email info@btl-tv.com and we will answer within one month.
You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Children
Our Kids programmes are made for children to watch with their families. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 without permission from a parent or guardian.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
